Kinshasa Rhodesian Ridgebacks

Breeding For  type temperament, Health & Soundness

Kinshasa Rhodesian Ridgebacks started with the purpose of owning and breeding quality companion and hunting dogs. Over the years I have enjoyed the company of my own and friends Ridgebacks when we have taken them on hunting trips. To me the breed standard was developed with that purpose in mind and that it served as a guideline for others who either judge or become caretakers of the breed,  so we have our beloved breed for generations to come. My ambition is to try and stay as true to the breed standard as I possibly can. Although I am no longer able to take my dogs hunting due to two knee reconstructions, I still maintain that a Ridgeback should look and move like the proud hunter of lions that was developed in their country of origin known today as Zimbabwe over the past 100 years or so.

My Ridgebacks are handled in the showring by my partner Lynne Harwood of Cabochon Dobermanns and two of Victorias top junior handlers, Jess Craig and Clare Tyler. We thank both girls for their invaluable help in handling our dogs.
